will you still be getting the Thunderbolt?

This is all speculation, but another poll to keep us busy while we wait

For me, anything over $30 and I'm out. If there is a tiered plan that enables me to keep my usage below 3G and $30 or under I'm in.

If they are going to charge for tiers or LTE on top of asking $250-$300 for the phone then I'll chill for a while.

If they offer unlimited or same pricing as 3G then I'll definitely jump on it.

It depends on how much more they ask for, I think anything over $40 for unlimited will be too much.

I'm willing to pay more for unlimited but if I have to pay more and have tiered..I don't know...

If they are going to tiered pricing,it better be cheaper. Meaning 30 bucks for the highest. I don't see how they can charge you more for less data just because your using more speed. Doesn't matter, im going to be grandfathered in until next year. And by then they should have their pricings set and i will be able to choose.

They need to keep the unlimited feature and keep it affordable for us. I could go as high as $40 unlimited but I am pretty sure it will be at least double that. This will be the most disappointting issue of this whole launch, the delays on the TB will seem like happy dreams when the 4G data prices come out

:'(

Poll question and answer options don't correlate to me. Question is aimed at whether I'm still getting the device or not. Answer options are regarding the data pricing.

My Short answer: I'm not willing to spend much (if any... MAYBE $5-10) more for a data plan, but I also have high speed Wi-Fi at home and work. I'm still getting this hardware no matter what though.

I have a feeling the pricing won't be unbearable. I think they just want to have it tiered in order to lower the strain on the network. 30 bucks is already high to most people, why go higher?

For what it's worth, I emailed Verizon Customer Support asking them about the "grandfathering" rule, and what would happen to my current data plan (unlimited data) if/when tiered data plans are put in place, and here was their response (the relevant portion anyway):

"You will be allowed to keep your data plan even if tiered plans are presented. The only time your data plan will be changed is at your request."

I know some were worried about being forced to switch data plans if they upgraded their phone, etc, but according to this person that is not the case (I specifically asked about buying a new phone at the upgrade price, etc). Take it for what it's worth.

Say you have a tiered plan for $30 and you go over your allowance..do they just tack on an extra $30 to your bill or do you have to then pay for each use?

Thanks for posting. The only caveat is that at some point in order to upgrade your handset you might have to agree to the new data.

Agreed, I can see them conveniently changing the rules once the new data plans are introduced.

if the phone is 250, or 300...then i better get a chance to get $30 unlimited data...cause if not they are just ripping you off.

It all depends on the pricing. If they keep unlimited for $30, but add a 4g charge that is under $10, I'll still get it. I won't be happy about the extra money, but I'll still get it.

Nope. I am 100% absolutely done with Verizon if they change it to anything other than $30 for unlimited. My contract is up and I'm going to Sprint.

It's absolutely idiotic and a sign that Verizon has gotten a little too big for their britches.

It's like being sold a Lamborghini with a governor installed that limits it to 50 miles per hour.
