If you could turn back time, would you do it again?

Most certainly. I love my Nexus. I have had the signal drop issues and occasional mic issues but there is nothing else out right now that I would want in lieu of it. I was told by a CSR that I could trade it for a different device last month but I refused. I love ICS and having the unskinned experience with limited bloatware.
I recently unlocked/rooted it and am amazed how easy it was. That is the beauty of having a Nexus device. Last week I flashed the 4.0.4 update and am now experiencing the signal issue far less. I have only dropped signal completely once or twice since upgrading whereas before it was happening a few times a day.
For those of you that are unhappy with the phone give the update a try and see if that helps change your opinion.
 
Tough call. I bought mine at 9:00 on launch day. I was very interested in the large beautiful screen and ICS. I also bought into all the hype about how this was going to get all these updates so no worries. I am stock and locked. I don't really know much about rooting and while trying to learn more it still seems far out of my realm. I have had sim cards swapped out with no changes. I am in northern NJ in 4g area yet my phone is so bad at handing off and maintaining data, that I keep it on 3g which still has problems keeping a data signal. I more often than not am staring at gray bars. I can wake up the phone and wait anywhere from 30 seconds to 10 minutes to get a signal.
Battery life is just OK even with extended battery. I can't take a good indoor picture with it and the speaker is terrible even with volume +. I love the screen and ICS, but that's about it. I wish Google and Verizon would get their act together and get everyone an OTA to address some of these issues. It's only been 6 MONTHS!!! So, would I do it again, probably not.

At the very least, it would be worth flashing the 4.0.4 update.

I suspect flashing a custom ROM (AOKP5 / M3 kernel) and the official 4.0.4 radios would give you a shot at improving radio signal and battery life (with the right settings). It's nice having a large development community like the Nexus as there are plenty of people who can help walk you through the process (which sounds more complicated than it actually is)

I will say I have been in Northern NJ as well and suffered signal problems with my Nexus so between the speculation of hardware issue vs software issue, I suspect location has something to do with it as well.

Can't help you with the speaker volume (it is a little soft for my tastes as well but I have not tried Volume+)

I've really enjoyed using HDR+ Camera, I've found it to be great for indoor shots that do not require a quick shutter speed

Without a doubt :) I love this phone and all support from the great developers makes it the best IMO. The signal could be better but I have yet to drop a call or lose my data so it doesn't bother me at all.
 
No I would'nt do it again. Im on the first thing smoking once I find something I like. Wasn't a bad experience per say just a few quirks that I don't like about Samsung phones like: MTP, camera, signal, and no ability to add more storage, talking specifically about this phone. I know other Samsung phones have additional storage. I like the phone just not enough to keep.:-\
 
I'm the kinda guy that swaps phones every few months and I left due to some issues with multi-touch, the microphone, and the screeching in my ear during occasional phone calls. I never had much issue with the signal overall. Now I'm considering going back. I actually picked one up on the cheap and am thinking about slinging this 4S for some extra spending money. I really liked just about everything about it besides those few issues. It could use an update to fix said bugs, however.

So yes, it looks like I would do it again.
 
Absolutely. I was this close to getting a Rezound instead and I'm extremely pleased with my choice. Being on the cutting edge of Android software, ease of unlocking, rooting etc, no bloat, thin light design...need I really go on? :D

I'm due an upgrade, but am torn between the Nexus and Rezound. I'm leaning more towards the Nexus because of the screen and stock Android. Oh, and the Jelly Bean upgrade. So your comment was good to see.
 
Definitely. I'm also really glad I didn't pull the trigger on the Bionic or any other phone that came out from summer to fall 2011, considering all the issues that have come up with those.
 
Say I would have gotten the Razr Maxx. Come the fall of this year, Google announces Jellybean. Oh My God, it's so cool! Then I look down on said Razr Maxx, and then a little up at that Motorola logo. Then I realize that my phone has JUST been upgraded to ICS, the OS that the Gnex has had all along. And then I think, "Since when has Motorola (barring the OG Droid) gone up three full versions of an OS?" And finally, I would be saddened immensely by the unlikelihood of my phone ever seeing the newest OS.

But that won't happen. I have a Nexus. One way or another, my device WILL see the next two versions of Android (whether through ROM or official update). And I will be content to wait out my 2 year contract without fussing upgrades and software irrelevance. This is why I bought the Galaxy Nexus, and this is why I still wouldn't change my decision :)
 
I'm still on my first GNex and its been a stellar performer. I traveled a lot for 3 months with it all over the place and it did respectably when it comes to 3g/4g hand off with the 4.0.2 radios. I just recently decided to unlock and root and just flashed a couple of ROM's and settled on Team BAMF's Paradigm v.1.25 ROM and just flashed the new 4.0.4 radios on this thing and its been great as heck. Couldn't be happier with my GNex now. I was happy with it when it was just stock. :)
