If you live in a non-4G area, even consider a 4G device?

Ok I am currently using a iPhone 4s, I live in a NON-4G market, but am surrounded by 4G.

Is it even worth buying a new phone that is 4G capable?

All of these data outages always seem to affect the 4G devices.

Is it better to hold off?

It's just that all the new devices are coming as 4G, so if you want a new phone you have to get a 4G device.

I'm in the same boat. But 4g is coming, and the phone I want happens to be 4g capable. It's kind of a bonus for me. Future proof is a pipe dream these days, but the Gnex is as close as it gets, for me anyway.

I got my HTC Thunderbolt (4G), back in June. My city (and even the whole state) didn't get 4G till the end of October. I got my 4G phone because I knew it was coming at some point, and would probably come durring the middle of my contract. I am glad I got a 4G phone, because when VZW fliped the 4G switch, I got it and so now I don't have to wait until my upgrade gets here. That's just my opinion. If it's not a big deal to you, don't worry about it.

I got my Thunderbolt months before 4g came to my area. In fact I still can't really get 4g at my house, but I can at work. Well worth getting it now imho

Before 4G came here I didn't even consider upgrading from my Incredible but once I read that people were starting to get 4G I upgraded to the Thunderbolt immediately. It worked out perfectly because VZW had sent me a letter telling me I could upgrade to a 4G phone ($200 compared to $250) even though I was not officially eligible yet.

I pay the same amount for 3G and LTE data plans so doesnt make a difference to me. The phone will work regardless
