I just happened to check my status and got the below. Now I ordered this at like 10:05am and yesterday status was updated to ?ready for fulfillment?. Now saying backordered. I'm guessing there could be several reasons: 1) they should not have been selling the T-Mobile one in the first place

2) it not really backordered but they will list it that way until they actually get word from HTC and T-Mobile of the availability

3) it really is backordered

I'm glad I also ordered an unlocked one as well that still shows as ready for fulfillment. So hopefully nothing happens with that one.

Surprisingly, you get the option to change the device to another available device. Well when selecting that only the 8X is available to select. I'm guessing because they are only showing T-Mobile devices. I'm going to call them in a bit to see if I can switch it to the developers version because it still appears to be available. If not I'll just cancel and then reorder the developer's one.

Check your orders people!

I'm going to assume that T-Mobile either had a very limited amount of phones in the first place or HTC can't sell it yet, seeing as T-Mobile doesn't have an official date? Because you can still pre-order for AT&T and Sprint just fine.

Just had them switch me to the dev version. Didn't take much to get it changed.

I'm going to wait it out. I'm wondering if this happened to everyone

Yeah me too. I checked over on XDA and some are reporting it as well. I think all T-Mobile orders probably got it. They just switched me to the dev model for the same price. So I'm good to go *crosses fingers*

You got the dev version for the same price? How much?

Both are 649.99 on HTC site. But of course the Dev is unlocked (sim and boot loader) and 64gb. But doesn't have T-Mobile 1700 band. So if your area doesn't have the 1900 band you might as well wait on the T-Mobile version. Luckily I have 1900 so I'm comfortable with either version.

Tried to order from this same site: getting the developer edition.

Order was fine, then flipped to "cancelled".

Happened twice.

Yeah they aren't allowing the T-Mobile one to be ordered anymore and my guess is they cancelled orders for those. They probably jumped the gun there. They switched mine to the developer version no problem.
