Ignored DND Exception

On my S22 Ultra, I have set my DND to be 11 pm - 6 am. I also have setup exceptions for calls and messages as 'Favorite contacts only'. However, it never seems to work. I constantly don't get the text message alerts until after the DND expires. For example, this morning, one of my favorite contacts sent me a text at 5:35 am. I didn't receive the notification until 6 am when the DND turned off.

This is on the Google Messages app since that's the default messaging app for the S22U. Anyone else experience this and how did you fix?

What about Samsung default message app does it do the same?

The Samsung is still the default message app even though Google messages is preinstalled

I filed a feedback and hopefully it gets addressed. I haven't tried Samsung messages yet because I don't get RCS on it.

Yes, I have the unlocked version and on Verizon network. I tried switching to Samsung but it didn't give me chat options so I guess no go on the RCS there.

Yeah unlocked no rcs

If im not mistaken i believe only Samsung message app works with DND
