I just figured since everyone wants to start a topic and rant about why there returning there evo because its not this or that.

1. I am keeping my evo because I love the screen size. I never thought it would need his big screen until I got the phone and grabbed my hero yesterday and struggled to read it.

2. I had a pre well I had 5 of them (hardware sucks) and the sprint store said i know you like web os but try this hero you may like android and if not well give you another pre. Well I love android and wont go back.

3. Camera for me works great its a cell phone not a Digital SLR just a cell camera and at that rate its really effective for a cell phone camera which is what it claims to be. If they claimed i would not ever have to carry a digital camera again I would be upset but I did not read anywhere that was there intent.

4. It doesnt freeze on any screen for me as of yet.

5. Froyo will really be amazing with the 1ghz processer and android is forever evolving.

There are alot more reasons I just have to go to a meeting but everyone please tell me why your keeping your evo.

I like the screen, for me it is the best phone out there now. It does everything i need and more. My signature says it all.

Agreed! I will be keeping mine as well (and my son is getting one in July for his 16th birthday).

Ditto..

Love the phone.... Sprint did kind of hint that you could dump you point and shoot... Yeah maybe a cheaper low end $99 point and shoot but not a digital SLR.. for every day "Hey check that out?" Photo's I think the EVO more than holds it's own.... If I am attending a special event and I want to take photo's I am taking my Nikon SLR or I am going to Borrow one of my dads Canon "TRUE" HD camera's.

I'll also admit the first few days with the 4.3 inch screen and the over all size of the phone (mind you I am 6' 1" 210 lbs and wear an XL glove) was awkward to hold and use as a phone. Great for internet and texting. It's still a little on the big size but after 2+ weeks now I am getting more and more use to it and even at first I never had any intentions of returning the phone... It's great.

Can't wait for Froyo... Hate to say it's probably going to be a few more months... the whole "Second half of 2010" press release from HTC means either July or December.. "Summer 2010" would have been a little better but oh well.... Wish HTC would offer you the option of standard Android so you could avoid sense, but oh well... It works...

I'm torn. I like the screen and I like the design and feel. But, I dunno, I just know if I keep it I'm going to break contract by the end of the year when something better comes along.

Thats with any phone tho... I mean something better will come out in a month or 2... If thats the case u should do what I used to do buy the phone full retail and then sell it and buy the newest thing... Even then u will always have that feeling...

I'm keeping mine because this is my first smartphone and I am hooked! The minor complaints don't bother me as much (light lifting on bottom, battery etc etc). The phone does everything I need it to and more. It's a nice little sidekick next to my laptop/pc. It's also been great sharing everyday pics with family pic txt. I watched a full 2 hour movie when I was getting my car fixed at the shop so this phone has been terrific. If it's functioning and gets the job done, it's a keeper to me! :) There will always be something big and awesome coming out, but I'm the type who uses things till it stops functioning, might be why I never had a smartphone for years.

I completely agree. I will also be keeping my Evo. I love the screen size, the camera, Android and unlike some of the competition, the phone actually works... I had a Pre' and liked Web OS, but the hardware sucked.

Excellent post!

I am also coming from the pre and am keeping my evo. The battery sucks but every thing else is great.

The most incredible battery operated device I have every held in my hand. Even better than that torpedo shaped device that made that one girl shake all night long.

It's a keeper for me also! This has to be the best device/gadget i've ever owned. We can nickpic about any device that come out. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE FLAWS but the pros outweigh the cons by miles on this thing!

I am keeping my EVO!

Coming from a CrapBerry Pearl (since 2008-2010) I am completely satisfied with the EVO. I am in no way a phone whore so what works for me works. As a photographer u are supposed to carry a point and shoot and SLR when u are out doing your thing....lol I never heard anything about the Evo replacing an SLR (even if they tried to, it just wouldn't) but a point and shoot on the go is fine. I don't have to carry mine around I just use my phone and take out the SLR on special times when I need to work. I love Sprint's service and the phone is already equipped with 4g so when it comes around my area(I am always in Philly anyways so I get it there) I won't need to get another phone just to use it. Not to mention I only need to keep the Evo for 1 year and I am allowed to upgrade again :)

Love the phone love Android. Better battery life would be great, but that is true of just about any portable device right now. Once you get that big screen I can't imagine going back.

BTW you can go back to the standard Android interface, just do a google and you will find how to do it. Can't imagine why you would want to limit the number of home screens you have though.

I'll be keeping my evo for the next year also. i just miss the cards from webos so that i know what is running and what is not.

I will be keeping mine as well... Before the EVO I was a PRE owner. Though the PRE was nice and WebOS was nice it just wasn't all there. It's a first Gen OS and Device, what is one to expect.

The EVO on the other hand is pretty happening. Easy to put movies on this phone and they look better than ever. Makes my train ride in NYC awesome. I also get 4G in certain areas in Queens where I live even though it hasn't been officially released and optimized or whatever.

The App store is huge and has so many apps.

The Phone, most importantly works. I don't get Phone Dial lag like I did on my Pre. The animations and transitions are smooth unlike the Pre. This sucker is fast.

It's a keeper!

I was a Pre owner too and I really thought the size of the phone would of been a problem.. But after seeing and using a phone with a 4.3 screen I can't go back. I can't believe Apple kept that 3.5 screen on the new Iphone..they don't know how to use the real estate on that phone..so much black on the top and bottom.

The Pre did have so much LAG when goin into apps and viewing pics etc.. That's what I was jealous of on the iphone 3GS..but not anymore! Love this thing and nothing crazy has happened yet..

I am just disappointed about the OpenGL games not being on Andriod yet.. Whats up with that crap! That takes away a lot of fun coming from the phone. Hope it comes soon!

Love my EVO!

I'm a former iPhone 3GS owner and I'm totally hooked on Android and my EVO.

1) My pictures with the EVO get great compliments.

2) The Screen size!

3) Videos I've put on it look great.

4) I'm digging the Google connectivity.

5) I love the widgets. Hello Sportstap and The Weather Channel!

6) I love the fact that it feels like MY phone, set up MY way...not some cookie-cutter phone that looks like all the rest.

7) Sorry, but if you work in an office and you have not used the kickstand, you are missing out.

8) Love not dropping any calls.

9) 4G rocks in Chicago.

10) one word: Froyo

Just think, if we love our phones now, imagine how awesome they'll be when we get Froyo!
