Im kind of paranoid about the battery

I just got mine 3 days ago and Im kind of paranoid about the battery, my Droid x2 battery fried before and I don't want it to happen again, I don't have my rugged case yet so I don't use it.much because I enter want to scratch up the screen, so it just.sots.in its box only getting maybe an hour of use a day, I was wondering if its OK to leave it off most if the day in its box because I don't want to tap put Tue battery and I also don't want to leave it on the charger all night and day, I leave it off because it takes about 2 hours to charge and I barely dent the battery the way I'm currently using it and I charge it at night, there are just so many battery related things I fear could go wrong and wreck it!

I hope you will be able to relax and bit and start really enjoying your new TF. Best device on the planet earth, IMHO.

Especially if you are using a dock with it. In that configuration you would be hard pressed to run out of battery unless you have a rogue app trying to melt it down.

My wife and I use ours on and off during the day, and recharge it overnight every other day, although we could probably make it every third day. On alternate overnights, I power it down to minimize idle discharge.

I never turn mine off and charge it every day or 2. I don't even use my laptop anymore. I wouldn't worry about the battery. I have been using mine that way since July.

i don't use my laptop that much any more and its also new. i use my TF prob everyday. its with me everywhere i go just if i need it. i don't charge overnight tho because this is my second charger. the first one over heated and almost wrecked it. coulda been a isolated event be never the less. i wont do again. use it and enjoy. its it really the best one i have had to date. the dell i had sucked. the samsung tab was nice but gave to my son. i am sticking with this one.

I agree. My habit of powering it off on those nights when I'm not recharging it is just OCD behavior on my part. The TF battery drain when left on in deep sleep is minuscule. I tested mine on multiple occasions last year and calculated something in the range of 0.2-0.3% per hour of the aggregate tablet/dock batteries when left in deep sleep, so it's really not worth worrying about, unless the TF is going to be left idle for really extended periods.

Don't worry about the battery! Just use the device! You have the device so you can use it and enjoy it. The battery will be just fine.

i use mine all the time i am away from my desktop like now i am lay in bed i turn it of when not in use and only charge it when it drops to around 15 to 20 % and then it only takes around 4 hrs to fully charge.
unless you are wearing rings then the screen should not get scratched i have had mine for around 8 months now and never use a screen protector with the screen being made of glass and not plastic it is much harder than some other tablets also the glass cleans easy. so just start using it it is no good just stuck in a box.
