I just got my new nexus 4 from Google and I'm running 4.2.1 and i haven't gotten the 4.2.2 update yet is that normal? My android is stock I haven't done anything special to it, Im still trying to figure android out because I'm use to having an iPhone 3gs. When did the update come out and will it prompt me to update or is there something special I need to do?

Once it's available you will receive a notification to download it. Alot of us that already have the update either sideloaded it or forced the update. Don't worry... you will receive it soon and again... you will receive a notification on your phone that it available for downloading.

...what Greg C stated... ditto. 4.2.2 mostly has small functionality changes, nothing security-related or heavy bugs to worry about or I believe Google would have pushed it out quicker.

Gratz on the new N4.
If you would like to see if you could force the update, go into settings then scroll all the way down to About Phone, then hit system updates, then check now. If it doesn't say there is an update available then go back to settings, go to Apps, swipe over to the All tab, then scroll down to Google Services Framework. Tap on that and hit force stop, then clear data. Then go back to the system updates and check for the update. It may take a while before the update shows up, or it could show up immediately, though I would expect that by now it should be available. Any questions, just ask.

*Ditto* to what the first reply you got. The update just came out last week and is rolling out to all Nexus 4's. I didn't get mine either. But I'm not worried about it. It will come soon. Google is good about pushing the Nexus devices their updates and 4.2.1 is a huge upgrade for me coming from the Galaxy S2 that had only 4.0 with Samsung Touchwiz. You never realize what you are missing in Vanilla Android until you get a Nexus. I now see that! All the phone makers really do funk up Android with their own stuff.
