Ever since the last security patch update that everyone including me installed, LG Bridge Service and LG Mobile Switch keeps on starting automatically and can't be deleted. Regretted it. Shouldn't have updated, it's annoying and draining the battery (see attachment). I felt like my screen on time is much less than before. Next time, think twice before updating.. if it ain't broke don't fix it...

Update: Be sure to disable "Mobile Service Manager".. it automatically re-enabled itself... it's a spyware app.

I would just contact either the manufacturer or your carrier for troubleshooting and a warranty replacement if necessary.

Yes right. He should contact to the manufacturer for this issue.

Everyone has the update.. seems like the new update added these two apps that eat your battery. Warranty replacement is probably not worth the trouble, I'll just have to use it like this.. maybe root it.

Can't you just flash the older build? Obviously you'll no longer be able to accept any OS updates (security or otherwise) but you should be able to get back to the point that you were happy with.

This is why I am always weary of updates. Everyone complains about how slow they are to roll out and then once they hit the boards are lit up with complaints of wonky problems that weren't there before. I'm on T-mobile and have the January security update sitting in the queue for the past week while I scour the boards to see if it is causing problems. Anyone heard of any?

How does one do that? I remember Samsung phones NOT allowing you to revert to older builds... (planned obsolescence?)

My only problem mentioned was those two unnecessary apps mentioned which I suspect are eating some battery life... can't uninstall it and can't get ADB to work so I can't sideload or change anything.

I used a tool called "LG Up" (equivalent to Odin for Samsung devices) to flash older/newer firmware, basically so that I could test the OTA process vs flashing new firmware using the Verizon software update tool. Seemed to work ok to revert to older firmware. YMMV.

Do you have a link to that and also link to list of firmwares? I know Samsung has a website (I think sammobile) that has every single firmware for each phone.

I might try it.. but half the reviews said it doesn't work...

I've never had a issue with it not working. There's a few things that the rooted version does that the non-rooted version won't,but for all practicle needs it's a great app that I use and have used since it was released.
