Good afternoon everybody! I have a question. I had 2.2 installed on my evo and i did the direction and rooted my phone. I have the wifi tethering working which is what i was really after. But now i kinda wanna unlock the frames per second so it can get over 30. Is there an easy way to do this where I wont have to erase everything on my phone since it is already rooted? And also, can someone please be so kind as to give me step by step instructions if it's not too diffucult. Also, I know everyone always have something smart to say in a thread when someone new person ask a question, can we please keep this one civil. Thanks in advance!
Do some digging in their forums too to get a feel for it all.
If you choose to install other roms some of them have it built in.
Also, since you're rooted you can use a program like Titanium Backup to backup your apps to easily re-install things. As well you can choose "auto update" in the market place and the apps will re-install when you log back in to the market on a fresh installation.
Learn about Nandroid backups also so you can experiment but get back to what was working for you in a hurry if anything goes south.
Good question, if you installed one of the Rooted stock 2.2 ROM's (like SteelH's) I would recommend you go to that post and see which custom kernel's are compatible with the ROM.
The key to the unlocking of FPS is based on the kernel. I know netarchy's kernel has the unlock and works with a variety of different ROM's.
