LOL I've played with it and I'm "okay" with it but it seems really childish. It was kind of an instant turn off. Sense on the other hand I like A LOT better. It seems more practical and useful, which I really think is the whole point of having a custom UI. I mean don't get me wrong stock is good too but Sense and the Droid X UI seem to be nice little tweaks that add another type of user experience to the table.

hmm i kind of like the sound of just "Shadow" or "X" as a UI name ^_^ anyone have a name they would like to call it besides Philblur? <--- pretty catchy if you know where it came from LOL

anyways back on topic like Mudvayne622 said it seems kind of weird to release the charm after/before <--(idk the specifics because im not interested) a Droid X realease. Maybe they wanted to release a phone with a blackberry form factor sort of to bring in people who don't want a touch screen? But yeah If the better informed consumer were to see this I'm sure they would agree and think "why"

Yeah, pointless for a phone like this. I guess we will see when sales numbers come out!! We are in an age of endless cycles of phones hitting the market one after another.

I think the charm is great
a candy bar qwerty device has been missing from the android lineup. and regardless of how great touchscreen keyboards have gotten (ie the multitouch droid x one), nothing beats a hardware keyboard. note blackberry's
specs wise, it's a downer, but theyre not bad, I mean, it's better than the original motorola droid!
the motoblur can be turned off under options, so I think this is pretty solid. if the keyboard is as good as a blackberry's; the specs are better than the bold, and android 2.1 is WAY better than blackberry os6
sounds like a winner for business types and texters to me.
if only it had a better name then CHARM.

I don't need to explain this again. But it's a great phone though I'm happy my wife is using it and I have my N1.

The keys are a tad small but not hard to get used to, problem is that I almost drop the phone a few times while typing because it's so thin. The CPU and memory are the specs of a mid-ranged phone yet priced at $250 which is excellent bang for buck and the phone doesn't lag even with live wallpapers, I installed LauncherPro on it and it operates a bit faster and gets rid of the ugly green/blue Cliq dock bar.

The only downer I found on this phone is the display quality and app compatibility, half of them don't show up when searching on the market, an app dev said it's due to the screen (it's treated as "landscape") and some apps are stuck in portrait mode (sideways) but if the popularity of the Charm and Flipout increaes there may be growing support in the app community.

Definitely a good phone for those Blackberry converts or those always texting.

I got it for $200. The display quality and app compatibility is an issue. Developers need to change this. Facebook is horrible on the Charm, better to use the mobile site. It's a different experience for sure. But for now, this is the best model in the form factor. Hopefully we'll see more, something like the bb torch or palm pre with a slide out portrait keyboard. That way a nice big screen can be made.
