AC Question

I'm using a t-mobile phone on straight talk, and cannot get a data connection.

Like an *****, I bought a phone from a guy on Facebook. It is a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S4, and T-Mobile refuses to unlock it. I tried every strategy I could find online to do a SIM unlock so I could use an AT&T SIM card, but nothing worked. Straight Talk does not have T-Mobile towers in West Virginia where I live. So, I decided to give them the zip code from where I used to live in Virginia because I did not think it would really make a difference. Apparently, I was incorrect. I can make and receive phone calls, and I can send and receive texts. But, I have no data which means no internet and no MMS. Is there anything I can do? I just do not believe that I have zero hope of ever having data unless I travel several hours away to VA. The phone looks to be running on AT&T towers for the phone calls and texts. So, I kind of thought it would do the same for data. If someone could help, I would be forever grateful.

You can't get it unlocked by TMobile, only the original owner can, and almost always only while the account is still active.

You can look on eBay for people who sell unlock codes. Then you can get a Straight Talk AT&T SIM (and remember to change the APN to the one that comes with the card). You'll have to contact ST to change the account over to the new SIM (the instructions come with the SIM, but contacting them on their Facebook page is probably the best way - those ST people are better than the ones you get on the phone.)
