Image viewer that *doesn't* show thumbnails?

Is there an image viewer app that's somewhat controllable instead of ransacking the entire contents of the phone and SD and displaying thumbnails of every image it finds?

I want to have it open only ONE folder at a time, one I choose, not what the app's author figures I might want to choose, which is apparently everything, everywhere, all at once.

I'm also not interested in having thumbnails. Those have to be sucking up tons of RAM or storage space.

If you've ever used GrxView, that's what I'm looking for, but that company doesn't yet do any Android apps.

I've been a computer user and fixer since 1983 and I like to tell the bleeping things what to do instead of them making nearly always wrong assumptions about what I want. :P I know where I put stuff, don't need some app dumping my entire 'file cabinet' out on a virtual table.

QuickPic will replace your gallery app as default and allow you to omit what folders you want to show/hide. I do believe it will allow for list view as well.

I have QuickPic, found no way to get a list view. I have File Expert with Quick Pic set as the default viewer. Now the remaining issue is File Expert doesn't appear to have any sorting options for date, type, size etc.

You could probably use any file manager from the market (linda, es file explorer, astro...). No thumbnails and you could just navigate to the folder on the sd card.
