IMAP account not working

I have an IMAP account through my isp and my inspire default mail app wont receive any messages from it. It is set up correctly according to the instructions on the ISP's website. When I set it up it configures the account as a pop account, which works but I prefer using IMAP. Any idea whats going on?

And you are sure the correct servers were used skins with the correct ports and security settings? What ISP?
