importing an mp3 as ringtone but not in music

I have some mp3's that I want to use as ringtones but I don't want them in my music library so I don't hear them when I play my music folder. Any ideas? I tried deleting the file from the music folder and leaving it in the ringtone folder but that prevents the file from being available.

I put mine in phone/media/audio/notifications . They don't show up in the music app.
