IMPOSSIBRU offical GB in mid 2012?

I'd just like to know what "Impossibru" means. Is this a new slang term I'm unaware of?

No racism included, but to me, it sounds kinda like a Asian accent.

I read somewhere that they say VM doesn't do OTA updates?

From the comments:
"I have the update. Believe me, you don’t want it. My husband and I both downloaded the update to our LG Optimus S phones and since then our phones have not acted right. My phone’s earpiece partially blasts through the speaker, Pandora and Amazon MP3 crash constantly, I have had several times where I cannot make a phone call, SD cars randomly unmounts, pictures no longer fit right on the wallpaper, etc. Those are the problems I can think of right now. I spend more time taking out the battery and restarting the phone than I do actually having full use of the phone and all my services."

That just about sums everything up right there...

Nope.... Why do you think we all have custom roms? Stock firmware is almost always bad because of all the bloat. Even before IHO we had froyo roms that are much better than the stock software.

Just because custom roms offer tons of stuff, doesn't always make it better. Tbh, I actually prefer stock, other than MIUI.

Not for the OV at least. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that it's broken either in the stock software or on VM's end.

Um, my greenness? In your 55 posts all I have seen you do is hate on CM an other custom roms. And you said yourself you won't beat a stock remix for performance because our devs fix the problems LG left in the software and remove the bloat.

Right, I said stock. BumbleBee is a stock based ROM. Harmonia is a stock based ROM.

What makes them fast? They are based on stock. You can't beat it for a base.

Do you really thing that the guys from LG that are payed to make a perfect firmware release? No. They have a deadline where they have to get it done by a certain date and they aren't supposed to get things "perfect", especially for a low-end, pre paid phone like the OV. (have you seen the triumphs stock software?)

I never said perfect, but it would be alot better. You think the few here can whip up better code than LG? Pardon me while I hold my sides.

Rom devs can work from the not perfect source code from LG and spend much more time making things "perfect". They can also remove the carrier bloat that the LG guys were forced to include. Really, I don't see how you think an official release will be better (see the Optimus S's first gingerbread release ), and the source that LG releases for a gingerbread release (If it even happens) will only improve IHO or other gingerbread roms that may pop up and it will be far better than stock.

Yeah, I know how development goes. Thanks for the ye olde memories.

Secondly, I have played with the Optimus S release, and its miles better than IHO with the phone I used. Yes, the upgrade path was spotty, but the phone I had worked 100% and I was blown away at how zippy and great it performed. It was then I downgraded from IHO back to Froyo. Latest and greatest isn't worth it when the phone runs like a G1 on GingerBread at first use.

Thirdly, no one was debating if ROMs would improve with an LG GB release. The topic I brought up was, are the current set of IHO ROMs better than what LG would provide? The answer is no, they aren't.

I'm sorry to say but your greenness is showing.

I've helped to dev for the G1, Nexus One, G2, Galaxy S. You have... well... I don't know exactly.

Also, I guess when I quoted your post I accidentally hit thank you and Tapatalk won't let me unthank you in case you were wondering why...

You obviously did not have the same experience that I have with IHO. At stock life was a pain. Fruit Ninja would take 2 minutes to load and then the lag made it unplayable. So, I did what any techie would do and put Harmonia 2 on there.

Instant improvement. Things loaded quickly, apps didn't lag, and life was good.

Also if you were wondering what I have done. I haven't done any custom roms yet but I have developed multiple apps for Android, iOS, and blackberry Playbook. I also have done many professional websites for multiple businesses.

Well I'm done arguing this. We both will obviously stay on the side we believe is the correct one. And we both know that the Gingerbread update is most likely mot going to happen anyway. So this is a useless argument.

I think a new release would be good. If the source code is an actual upgrade from the original, then the great devs working on Backside & other roms will have new material to work with. Like adding fresh DNA to an old gene pool. Custom roms would only benefit. Before anyone downloads ANYTHING in their phone they should research it first. That being said..making that choich to hit the download button is really up to the user. I love all the improved function that Backside has added to my phone. For me, froyo was the worst! It was my choice and it's my phone. I'm glad to have choices and if fresh material would help the research along..GREAT!

Maybe. I hung around BiffMod crew mostly. Probably not, since I never use the same username in two places...

Eh probably not then. I joined in right around the release of cm6.1. Biffmod didn't seem too alive..

The V's time is not passed i hope, Take a step back to peer at the bigger picture, sure new phones with huge screens and 4 processors and TV running technology are cool, but not cheap at all. The V fills its niche in the market with being very affordable to produce and acquire ( got mine $50 brand new black friday). the ArmV6 might be somewhat limited but we need to be ever vigilante in software upgrades(look how far we've come! woot woot shout out to all the devs and testers!!!!). I personally cant wait to get a raspberrypi and start fooling around with its Arm.:D Moral of the story: not very many people have the extra money to get a six hundred dollar phone for $100 a month, and as long as the never ending "recession" from 2008 (we are living in a real global depression) continues, there will be a spot for affordable no contract phones with fair performance
