Improving cell signal?

Recently moved and the cell signal ranges between 1 and 2 bars, is there anything that will help improve it? (have Verizon service)

Our internet is set up via router and modem . That signal is roughly the same but the 4 g signal is around 1-2 bars for most of my new place. Just wondering if there is something that can help give it a better signal/or boost so it doesn't eat thru the battery faster.

Right. So, to clarify, that device is actually a mini-cell tower. Positioned correctly in your home, it would give you full bars (or full minus one) throughout your home.

Maybe I should move the router/modem around a bit to see if helps the 4g signal.. Are there any apps (thru Google play) that help boost the signal?

Which are you trying to increase... wifi, cellular or both? They are separate entities entirely.

Re-locating your wifi router/modem in the house can improve your wifi strength, they can / do go bad over time. It might be time for a replacement.

As far as Verizons 4G goes I can forget about it in my home. I have never gotten a 4G signal. I am lucky to get 3G-2/5 bars. The dreaded 1x rears its ugly head 2-3 times a week. If I walk a block or two down the street I get 4G-2/5. Hopefully there's a realistic solution.

The solution is to install a femtocell (see my first post in this thread).

Whether you consider the cost of doing so a worthwhile expense is another matter. :)

And, of course, what would be the point? 4G is primarily a data connection; you don't require 4G for cellular conversations or SMS. If you want a great data connection in your home, wireless Internet is far more useful than 4G cellular.

Verizon does not allow their devices to FULLY run off wifi data. Text message picture send/receive is over some aspect of their cellular network, same goes for voice mail messages. I require both and because I am slower than dial-up (on a good day) it can be troublesome.

If you are talking about your home and if you have access to wired Internet, then you could look into one of these - be forewarned though, not inexpensive: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...es/hotspots/network-extenders/&token=zQfBkAfh

You might be able to find a used one on eBay, but check with Verizon first to ensure that you will be able to use it.

This device is an absolute piece of crap. Verizon sent me one for free 2 weeks ago. Still have yet to get it working. One of the requirements is you must turn of all your advanced calling features to connect to it. Try telling my wife and kids that when they walk in they have to go into settings in order to use the device and then when they go outside and disconnect from it they have to re-enable the advanced calling. Then they tell you the GPS antenna needs to be near a window. Not many people have their internet routers close to the window.

Yep. Never got mine to work either. Spent an hour with vzw tech support only to be told to call your ISP who said no call vzw. 250.00 right down the crapper. Don't do it.

I have a horrible signal in my office at work. I wonder if AT&T would send me a booster for free? LOL. Yeah right! It's AT&T. Nothing is free!

I've found out that most of my place is around 110 dBm for signal, ugh. The closest tower is about 1 mile from here.

lots of cash is the right word for that. I went by the tower that shows a strong signal (bar wise) and it was 78-89 dBm. Since I have a good wifi signal I might just turn off data to see if that will do anything differently. But I found something weird, if that's the right word, my phone and my tablet (Tab A) sitting in the same spot has different wifi strength's (tab=very strong of 120 mbps and phone= good of 80-90 mbps)
