In HTC desire 610 how do I stop the phone from checking for AT& T updates

Phone keeps notifying me that there are no updates available, and will check again in 48 hours. How do I stop it from giving me these notifications every time I open the phone? Please help.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you certain it's checking for system updates, or could it be some other app update?
