In Messenger, how do I take a picture with a flash?

I have a Galaxy S4 Active although I don't think that matters. In the new Google Messenger app, how do you take a picture with the flash? If I press the paperclip, the camera will open so I can take a picture. But, there is no option to use the flash.

Do you have your flash set for auto or, the default, off? It has to be on auto or on to work.

In Facebook messenger ? If so I don't think there is an option for the flash on any phone or camera.

Are you referring to the regular camera app? I'm talking about taking a pic directly in the Messenger app.
