Incoming bluetooth call overrides Goolge Maps screen when call ends

I have my phone connected to my car's Bluetooth. If I have Google Maps running an incoming call opens and displays the phone app that overrides Google Maps display. When the call ends the phone app remains on the screen and Google Maps remains running in the background with verbal instructions only. Eventually the screen goes black. Is this normal for the LG G6? It did not happen with my Note 4. With that phone when the call ended Google Maps would reopen on the screen. I see nothing in the settings to change this.

Open the phone app and see if there is an option to turn off popups when screen is on.

Mine started doing the same thing after the Oreo update and will try the advice given.

I never really thought about much, but you're right, it started happening to me after the Oreo update, also. I disabled the pop up feature and will let you know how it works the next time I use it.

So now it seems to be working properly. A call came in and displayed on the screen. When the call ended Google Maps redisplayed as expected. Maybe a Google Maps update corrected the problem. Go figure.
