Incoming Call Bypasses Lock Screen

i don't pin or password lock my devices. i just use the default slide to unlock. i noticed that when I get a phone call, if i don't answer, instead of the screen going off and the phone going back into a locked state - the phone unlocks and takes me to the "home screen." i don't know if this is how it should work, but i don't like it. it poses many issues; battery drain being the biggest one for me. other than that, the accidental pressing of buttons which could lead to **** dialing/texting and other things. can one of you guys with a n5 confirm if yours does the same?

enable the default slide to unlock lock screen, press power button to make your phone sleep, have someone give you a call, and see if your phone remains awake (unlocked and taken to the home screen) after the caller hangs up or gets to voicemail.

I usually use a PIN but I set both my phone (Gnex) and GF's (N4) to slide and both stayed at the lock screen after the call was dropped, and eventually went back to sleep. I'll try with my N5 once I get it this week and see if it happens in any of the lock screens.

yeah that's the way I recall all my devices working.. going back to lock screen then back to sleep a few seconds later.. but not on my n5. call wakes the phone completely. unlocks it and screen stays on until timeout, which I have set to two minutes.

no. not concerned about security. i trust my peeps and if it's lost i can remote lock/wipe it.. thanks to adm of course.. either way, use a password lock is not a viable solution for this issue imho.. security isn't my concern here.. its battery drain and accidental touches that can cause me to **** dial etc..

I can confirm my N5 does the same as yours. All other locked modes go to the pass/pin input screen for a second, dims, then goes out. Dunno if it's a KitKat issue or N5 one. Will find out once the N4&7 get their updates.

Cheers!

Yikes. This bug is present in my N5 as well and definitely should not be there. I hope they get it fixed fast.
