I activated a Galaxy S3 yesterday coming from an iPhone 5. When I text my wife (still on an iPhone 5) she receives the messages and instantly responds. Problem is, the messages aren't coming to me. She just called because there was an accident on my route to work and she hadn't heard from me. Reason she hadn't heard from me is that I was awaiting a response from her that never came to my phone...

She said that on her iPhone it shows that she sent them to me as iMessage which of course i'm not currently using on this Galaxy...

Anyone have any experience with an issue like this?

I know when I upgraded from my iPhone to the S3. I had the same problem. The only way I was able to do it was put my sim card back in my iPhone and then go to settings and disable imessage. Try sending a text first with the iPhone and send to another iPhone to make sure that it worked.

If you don't have the iPhone anymore I think you can do it with your wife's iPhone as it has to do with your phone number and not your account. I tried the way Apple said to do it with your login on apples web site but it never worked.

Good luck

If she is responding to you through an open message she had with you before you got the S3, then it could be that the iMessage is sending to the email address that is attached to your Apple account. If she deletes the open messaging she has with you, then texts to your phone number this may fix it. I had a similar issue...found out it was going through, but it was sending to my iPad. My fiance deleted our ongoing message, and resent to my phone number, which in turn "fixed" the issue.

That sounds like a reasonable fix. I called Apple to try to "remotely" change my iMessage password but needed my device for some code they sent. Duh, if I had the device I wouldn't be calling you guys. smh

I came home and turned off iMessage on my iPad and my wife's test message came through. We will see if that holds
