Inconsistent contacts in ICS

I have a Google Nexus S phone with ICS.
Whenever I search for someone in contacts, my phone always gives me missing information.

whenever I click on the bottom left icon (blue phone, the one you use to make calls) I can see all contacts correctly. However, whenever I go to contacts (the blue icon next to it with contacts symbol) I don't see all contacts (some are missing) and some are missing some information (like if someone has 4 numbers it shows few of them).

All sync options are enabled and work fine.
I also checked the "contacts to display" and it's all working fine.
