Increased Battery Life after Revo, Root & Debloat?

Is this normal? It's just been a couple days, but I got S-Off and Rooted using Revolutionary. Then, I debloated a lot of stuff, in particular the VZW junk, Blockbuster app, Golf game and some other apps that I don't use. I also dumped the security problem file that's still pending a fix from HTC and Verizon. All the mail apps, weather apps, etc. remain. I jailed all the other files over in a junk folder I created on the SD card.

Since doing this, it seems like my battery life has increased. I'm running the HTC extended battery, but it's nowhere near as low as usual. It seems like I'm remaining at +/- 70% capacity at the end of the day when I would otherwise be in the 40% range. It's actually difficult for me to quantify the increase. It's all subjective on my part, but is it normal for battery life to be better under the circumstances I described?

BTW, I haven't flashed any of the developer OS's like CM7 or BAMF Forever. It's just running the last Gingerbread update that was subsequently pulled from the market.

TIA! :D

I just unrooted with the same method and got rid of bloat too. Battery feels a bit better, but not anything substantial. BTW, were you able to remove tune wiki? That was the one i couldn't remove.

Idk, but I just rooted myself and this makes me want to debloat for sure!

Same boat as you, stock Ota gingerbread with root.

rooted this past weekend got rid of a few things and installed bamf forever..sitting at 78% charge left after 1 day 16 hrs and 35 minutes with extended thats way better than before..1st time with this setup going from full to dead have to see....maybe its like and old ford stay on full tank for days then zip empty in 50 miles

I haven't noticed improved battery life but the phone seems faster to me (rooted stock). Its got to be my imagination.

I noticed a huge battery difference when I did the unrooted ota to GB. So much so that I switched back to the original battery after nearly 5 months with the extended. However, I flashed band forever about 5 days ago and it seems my battery life is now worse. :-(
