Hey All,

I've had my Droid Incredible for about a week, and just now thought to try Bluetooth (pair with a Plantronics headset). So, I already had the Power Control widget on one of my screens, and went to enable Bluetooth like I had done so many times before on my Motorola Droid. I touch the Bluetooth button, and it says "Turn on Bluetooth." The button stays dim green for 45 seconds then turns off. Bluetooth is not ON!

So I thought that maybe there was an issue with Power Control...I tried to enable Bluetooth in Settings > Wireless & networks. No dice, still won't turn on. So after awhile of playing with it, I turned on Wifi with Power Control. I just happened to accidentally touch the Bluetooth icon while Wifi was enabled, and it worked! I've tested this in Power Control and in Settings, Wifi has to be enabled for me to be able to enable Bluetooth. It will not turn on if Wifi is off. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is this normal? I looked in the manual and it doesn't seem like it requires Wifi to work. It seems when I had my Motorola Droid, I could enable Bluetooth with Wifi off.

Is my device defective? Thanks,

F.

I cannot duplicate what you're experiencing. Does it still do this after a soft reset? Do you have any 3rd party apps installed?

Ugh, I have many 3rd party apps installed. My issue still occurs even after a soft reset. I'm guessing my next choice is to do a hard reset and see if it still exhibits the issue. If it's still broken after that, I guess it's off to the Verizon store for a return. Thanks for verifying it works for you two.

Anyone know if you can return a phone to a Verizon store that's different than the one you purchased it at?

Yes you can. I'd bet money it works after a hard reset though. Those 3rd party apps will get you every time.

Gah! Hard reset, and still no dice! Bluetooth won't turn on if Wifi is off. I guess the phone is defective. Off to the Verizon store tomorrow. Guess my Invisible Shield screen protector is down the drain :(
