I need help! i broke the glass on my incredible, phone still works by its broken

i have searched for 2 hours on good and ebay for a replacement but no luck. Anyone know where i can buy the front glass and bezel?

You can't right now. If you have insurance file a claim and get a new phone.

damn, i dont have insurance on the phone, plus the phone is so back ordered that i would have to wait a while anyway

The best thing you can do atm is to either purchase a new phone, or live with the crack until backorders cease and parts start showing up in various places. If you add insurance to your cell plan now, I think you have to wait 30 days and if they will let you do it, then you technically could turn around and have it replaced. It all depends on what Verizon is willing to do for you.

Thanks everyone for the help, is the part i am refering to the digitizer? I found a seller from texas who has them for $63.. How do i request adding insurance?

There are two parts to the screen, the upper part which is the digitizer and the lower part that's the actual LCD. The two screens are held together with nothing more than really thin double back tape.

If you cracked the digitizer only, then you're in luck if the part available is the digitizer only. If you cracked the digitizer and the lcd screen, well then your SOL and need to wait until the LCD's are available.

Adding insurance, just call verizon up and ask them to add it, that's all.

You have 30 days from purchase to add insurance to your phone from what they told me... Not sure if that's entirely accurate...

Check with your homeowners insurance Co. Mine covers my cell phone!

Cell phone coverage on most homeowner policies regardless of carrier is usually an additional premium that is not worth it if subject to hour policy deductible. Most deductible are $250 or $500 unless you have high value home most of which have higher deductibles to reduce premiums. You should discuss small.claims with your agent as small claims may cost you a claims free discount which could end up costing you more then a new phone at retail. As a licensed agent I always suggest insurance through a carrier or third party cell phone insurer.

I damaged the "beauty ring" when I dropped my phone, and found the following website

HTC Droid Incredible

Have not used them, and I am not sure how reputable they are, but thought I would contribute what I found. Good luck.

Nice I think that's exactly the part he needs! And to answer his original question the "digitizer" it the full screen panel and glass needed to make it work. From my understanding you need just the plastic around the edge right? If so you just need the housing.

I actually need the digitizer, the glass part that controls the phone

Secondly, that site is a total rip off, why the hell would i need to buy a minimum of 3 digitizers for?? Its stupid, id rather go on ebay and buy one for a $100 bucks from a hong kong seller. and wait 2 weeks.

Then go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eF-Nztd24eI and pause it about the 2:11 Mark, the actual housing they sell is wrong, not enough screw holes to hold both the LCD and the center housing, a SQUARE hole for a ROUND center button....ya its crap.

Luckily theres someone who is selling me one for $70, plus im going to call HTC's repair center and see if they can sell me the part.

Yeah don't expect much help from around here when we try to help and you already have all the answers.......

And buying from a hong kong seller is what all these parts are, I personally wouldn't buy anything like that for my phone unless it came from HTC. And if you know how to get ahold of HTC's repair center and get parts what was the point of this thread?

BTW the hold for that button need to be square. Watch this video...........

Sounds like you may need to do some additional research before you get into tearing your phone down......

dont assume i had all the answers before i made the post, i knew i needed a digitizer, i dident know where to get one.

Secondly, take a closer look at the video, the main board is square yes, but not the front plate, look at the offical and the resellers option.

And i already tore down my phone, thats how i know its wrong

plus its still a rip off that they force you to buy 3

You must not have tore it down and looked at it to closely yet or you would realize the housing sits underneath the digitizer and the optical joystick's square base goes between that housing and the circuit board and pokes through the digitizers "front panel".

Now making someone buy 3 at a time is kind of a rip off, but most people they sell too must be into electronics repairs. But I don't worry about things like this it's the reason I have phone insurance lol.
