So here's my issue. I have about 16g worth of music in itunes. Most were dowloaded from cds but alot purchased from itunes as well. Got a new laptop earlier this year and when I loaded my music I ended up with a ton of duplicates. One of the two duplicates is a bad file for each song that wont even play. Downloaded double twist and it turns out that i need to upgrade to itunes plus because most purchases are older. What I want to do is completely get away from itunes all together. How do I get rid of all the duplicates without having to manually delete each individual one and what player is best for my incredible? Also do I have to put all songs on SD or can I use some of the 6g internal that have available? Thanks in advance.

In iTunes go to File > Show Duplicates. Then you should be able to uncheck or delete the ones that are bad.
I was using doubleTwist but it was not able to read music from the phone memory, only the SD card. I went back to the stock player because I also like the lock screen controls. It's also much faster with Froyo. I import some playlists to the sd card and some to the phone memory to make the most of my available storage. dt also does not list by genre. dt is supposed to coming out with an update with new features. Maybe phone storage will be one of them.

Thanks B. How do I keep my downloaded ringtones out of shuffle all and do I just copy the few I want on internal in a new "music" folder or is there somewhere existing they need to go?

also, when I click show duplicates are the good files in this list as well? or is it hiding the good file and I can just "check all" and delete these? thanks.
