I bought an unbranded, unlokced Desire from India and I live here. It came with 2.1 and I wanna upgrade it to FroYo.

So,

1. Can I directly use RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.09.405.8_Radio_32.4 3.00 . 32U_5.09.00.20_release_140022_signed.exe on my cell regardless of the version of 2.1 it's running? By version of 2.1, I mean it could be: 1.21.720.4 or 1.21.405.2 or 1.15.405.5... or anything. You get the picture.
Will it be compatible with my Asian Desire's firmware?

2. Can I make a backup of the current ROM using Nandroid?

3. I'll get future OTA updates and stuff from HTC directly?

4. No goldcard needed seeing it's unbranded, yes?

GSM=you're good around the world.
I don't believe the firmware varies country to country, so 2.1 is 2.1 wherever you go.
If you're rooted then yes, you can make a backup using Nandroid.
OTA updates will come from HTC directly (yes).
