individual text notification tone

Is there a way to set individual text notification tones on the stock Messenger program? I know how to change the notification sound in the settings but I would like set specific tones for different people. I had handcent on my EVO 4G but when I downloaded it on my Galaxy Note II I couldn't get my contact's pictures to show up. If someone could help me with either problem, individual text tones or handcent not showing contact pictures it would be great

I'm using handcent and it's using my contact's picture. Wonder if it's some odd setting or something.

Yes,, going into the contact,, settings, edit, scroll down and you will see options for ring tone and message tone.

I changed that, but that is not the tone that plays. Do I need to change a setting in the messenger program?

Your right, I never actually used this feature but after I set a few contacts realized it is not working. When I had my evo lte this was an issue until we got an update that fixed it.

And they just added that feature in the 4.1.2 update... :/

I'm about to try it out to see if it's broke for me too... I usually use chomp sms


Edit: yep, didn't work. Hopefully they fix it with the next update

Yea I'm not worried about it because like I said earlier went through this when I had my evo,,,,,,,they fixed it with an update. No worries
