Infinite reboot of Galaxy Gear 2 Neo after trying to pair it with new phone

I got a Nexus 6P to replace my Samsung S5 and tried to pair my Gear 2 Neo with the Nexus so I could use it with the new phone.

The Gear said it was pairing with a new phone and that it would wipe all data. It then did a reboot and is not in an infinite loop. It only ever shows the Logo screen with the word... Rebooting on it...

I tried going into the menu (hitting the home button until the little text menu comes up) and hitting recovery... but same result. The screen will go off and if I hold the HOME button for a few seconds it will bring up the logo again with the rebooting message.

The Neo supposedly only works with certain Samsung phones.
