Received my Galaxy Nexus directly from Google last week.

Tried turning it on immediately, no dice. Figured maybe the battery was completely drained, so I plugged it in overnight.

Next morning, same thing. Tried popping the battery, made sure the connections to the battery were good...nada...figured it was a DOA.

Called Google (which was getting slammed by everyone calling in about the Nexus 7 tablets).

[FIX]

Guy I talked to told me to wipe (not rub, just wipe) both the contacts on the phone, and the battery, as the cleaner they use can sometimes prevent a connection from occurring.
As I'm doing this, I'm rolling my eyes, as I think this is some BS to try to put me off...

As he asked, I wiped the contacts on the battery and the phone (used the shirt I was wearing). Popped the battery back in, and it powered up immediately!

Figured I'd post this in case anyone else is running into the same situation...

Hey man thanks a bunch you just saved me a call to customer service and whatever hassle would have came with it. Thankfully your post was the first to come up after a google search of "Galaxy Nexus DOA".

Take Care.
