Infuse won't turn on

I just bought my wife an Infuse and we are both new to Android. We have had it two days and twice now it won't turn on after being off. I know I can pull the battery and it works but obviously don't want to keep doing that. I just recently bought a Galaxy tab and it is finicky sometimes about turning on also. Is there something we are doing wrong? Just take it back?

Edit - I did get it come on after holding the power in for about 15 seconds but still wondering if something is wrong.

to turn on the phone you have to hold the power button for a couple seconds
