Hi everyone, I thought maybe you guys wouldn't mind getting to know each other a little better ;)

So, how about everybody introduce themselves, and share as much as you're willing to share:

Where you're from:
You're profession:
Smartphone phone history:
The phone you are or have switched from:
What's your favorite feature about the Inspire?
Any disappointments?
And anything else you can think of.

I'll start. The first few are obvious, so here's the rest:

Phone history: Samsung i500, Treo 600/650, PPC 6700, Mogul, Touch, Pro, Touch Pro 2, Droid, Incredible, EVO, Droid X, Vibrant, and the Fascinate.

Phone I am switching from: I am a phone addict and as you can see I've purchased quite a few. But I've always said, you have to pick your carrier first and your phone second. In my case that has been Sprint and then Verizon over the years. That said, I caved to the popularity of the iPhone 4, but I returned it the next day, not realizing how many shortcomings it had for my smartphone needs. Even though I don't have an Inspire, I still wanted to kick off this thread, because I'm in a position where I want to meet as many members as possible!

Where you're from: I'm originally from Indianapolis, IN. Living in Holland, MI for now.
You're profession: Military
Smartphone phone history: BlackBerry Curve 8310 > BlackBerry Bold 9700 > BlackBerry Torch 9800 > HTC Inspire 4G
The phone you are or have switched from: BB 9800
What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? I have many :D Processor speed, rooting capability, Apps, Support from developers. Didn't seem to be a whole lot for BB's.
Any disappointments? I wouldn't call it a disappointment but the battery could be a tad bit better. I'm getting almost a day out of it and I have chargers nearby all the time but I think it could have been a bigger battery.

Where you're from: Central Texas

You're profession: used to work at Best Buy, but I'm a student at texas A&M

Smartphone phone history: I'm kinda new, owning wise...Blackjack 1, iPhone 3G, now the inspire

The phone you are or have switched from: same as above

What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? Definitely the screen, as well as the aluminum. While watching the NBA All Star game, I went to play NBA Jam on my iphone and it looked and felt TINY! Plus, my iphone was literally about to crack in half, so the aluminum is awesome.

Any disappointments?not really. Though being new to Android I'm still learning app management and trying to get the battery to last

Where you're from: Kentucky

You're profession: AT&T Technician

Smartphone phone history: Moto MPX220, Blackberry 8300, Blackberry 8310, Blackberry 8900, Blackberry 9700, Nexus One, Inspire

The phone you are or have switched from: Nexus One

What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? More app memory/bigger screen

Any disappointments? No dual core, no FFC, no HDMI out

I love android, my favorite smartphone OS...the Inspire is a very solid phone, I still might trade it off for the Atrix, but for right now HTC Sense is making up for the lack of features mentioned above...

You're profession: Retail Store Manager

Smartphone phone history: Treo 650, Blackberry Curve 8310, Blackberry 8900, Blackberry Storm, Blackberry Bold 9700, iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, Nokia E71, Sony Ericcson P900, LG Prada, Nexus One, Samsung Captivate, and Nokia N97

The phone you are or have switched from: iPhone 4 and Nexus One

What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? The 4.3" screen, build quality, camera, and HTC Sense

Any disappointments? No front camera, dual core, HDMI, battery life

And anything else you can think of. I have been with AT&T since when it used to be first Pac Bell Cellular if anyone can remember that (was first digital cell service). I am such a phone addict and my gf has put up with me changing phones every 2-3 months and even our first 5 dates were of me purchasing phones in parking lots off Craigslist. Can't be all that bad as she usually gets my phone I'm replacing and thus being able to upgrade my line every year isn't so bad! So as you can see I've had my share of phones and it won't stop. Still looking to pick up the Atrix and iPhone 5 this summer!

OtterBox are already available under the Desire HD, they work perfectly. I'm using the Commuter case.

What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? Honestly, Swiftkey. First time I could ever type well on a touchscreen, and the ability to stream songs in the car thru the Bluetooth and Rhapsody. Blackberry could not do this.
Any disappointments? The only thing that's a disappointment for me is nothing like BB Messenger. That was great.

What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? Screen size and camera, flash player
Any disappointments? No front camera, and when making a call then removing your face from the phone it takes you to the main screen. This can be bothersome because When getting off the call I have to either wait for the other person to disconnect or I have to select the phone icon, then hit end call. The down side is that sometimes the other party disconnects the call just as I flipped back and as I'm going to tap end call, it switches back to call. So I end up calling that person right back.

Hi eveyone, I'm an android newbie and new to the forums, but thought I'd introduce myself since I've been lurking for 2 weeks. BTW - I Love My Inspire!

Where you're from: Massachusetts

Your profession: Tax Lawyer (I know?boring)

Smartphone phone history: Blackberry Pearl, Blackberry Curve 8900, Blackberry Bold, Inspire 4G

The phone you are or have switched from: Blackberry Bold (still using a Blackberry Curve 3G for work)

What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? Everything that?s awful on Blackberry and is awesome on Android. Real webpages, Google sync that works, responsive touch screen, 4.3? screen

Any disappointments? Voice dial ? but I haven?t found a phone yet that does it well ? and I don?t have a Boston accent! Losing the multiple speed-dial keys that came with the Blackberry?s real keyboard, makes the crappy voice dial an annoyance.

Where you're from: I live the central part of the DFW area
You're profession: Regional Channel Manager for a large healthcare company
Smartphone phone history: I've owned Palm's, Pocket PC's Windows Mobile, WebOS, Android's, Windows Phone 7 and of coarse iPhone's.
The phone you are or have switched from: iPhone 4 32GB
What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? After years of carrying an iPhone I felt it was time for a change. This is not to say I don't like my iPhone because I still do.
Any disappointments? None so far, for me it's more just getting use to the differences between Android from iOS.
And anything else you can think of.

I was a founding member of the DFW Pocket PC users group back in the day. I saw where the mobile technology industry was and could go. I founded a software development company that developed applications for Pocket PC's and Windows Mobile devices. During this same time I started a group of mobility focused websites starting with pocketpcminds.com that grew into mobileminds.com, covering everything from Palm, Tablet PC's, Smartphones and Blackberry's. While my family and professional career required more and more of my time I slowly had to shut down 5 minds sites I now only have mobileminds.com and rarely publish there anymore.

My passion for smartphones has not gone away and in fact in the past year it seems to have returned even stronger than before. I'm looking forward to becoming a more active member of this and other communities discussing Android devices.

My current list of owned devices are iPhone 4 32GB, Samsung Focus (WP7), HTC Inspire 4G and tomorrow a Motorola Atrix with Laptop dock.
