Install apps to internal memory

None of my 6gb internal memory is being used by the phone. Any way to force or move apps to the internal memory?

Menu-settings-applications-Manage applications. Then select the app you want to move to your phone. Click "Move to Phone". Or "Move to Card" if it's already on your phone... It's how I do it

Will the apps run just as well on your sd card as they do on the phone?

I thought this moved it to the phones internal 748 MB of space not the internal 6GB storage.

Why waste the internal 6GB SD? Maybe it relates back to my paranoia of computers and always having a backup. Install on the Internal and backup to the external in case one fails you always have the other.
