"Install" button on external apps

When installing apps from outside Google Play, the "install" button does not let me press it. It will only let me press Cancel. Right after a reboot, I am able to press it, but this doesn't always work. Amazon Appstore is no exception. What would be preventing me from installing outside apps? I already have the checkbox pressed for external sources. Thanks for the help.
