Installing Android 6 to Moto G 3rd gen, can I do it manually?

Installing android 6 to moto g 3rd gen

Instead of waiting for my OTA update, is it possible to do it manually by downloading a copy of the OS & putting it on the phone myself?

Yes. Which version do you have (XT1540, 1541, 2, 3, 4, 8 or 50)? If you have the XT1541 the rollout hasn't begun and no official software is available.

Can anyone point me to the full 6.0 stock firmware images? I'm specifically looking for the XT1540 Retail US (2 GB ). I can only find the 5.1.1 image for this phone, and the only 6.0 image I can seem to find is for the 1 GB version.

I've flashed the 5.1.1 image to my phone and I can update to 6.0 using the OTA, but I have a couple issues (I can't root on 6.0,for one thing), and I'm hoping a straight install of 6.0 will solve that.

The Marshmallow 2GB firmware image for the XT1540 hasn't leaked out yet... I suggest watching this thread for the most up to date information.
