Installing issues

Hey,

When I try to install any application to my phone its giving me an error saying 'could not install on usb or sdcard "

Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

I've tried rebooting and the whole battery removal deal. My sd card is not set to read only. And applications are installed on the phones memory then I move them to my sdcard if I need to.

unmount your SD card and try again....that should do the trick

next time....use the search function....there are TONS of threads about this particular error....just saying...

Try this method that I posted in another thread:

Check for a file named "smdl2tmp1.asec" in the ".android_secure" folder on your SD card and delete it.

You probably won't find that folder on your SD card with a standard file explorer (ES, ASTRO, . . ) because a period (.) in front of a folder name makes it a hidden folder to Unix and Linux operating systems. The app "Root Explorer" will work, FYI.

Either plug the USB cable in to a computer and delete the file that way or take the microSD card out and put it in a card reader connected to a computer and do it that way.

I was able to find that folder using esfile explorer.. problem is, there is nothing in that folder.

And will that really solve the issue because remember I only move the apps to the sd card after I install them. The problem is it won't let me install.. it would move just fine.
