I just bought a new battery for Droid X. Is it recommended to wipe the battery stats file before I install the new battery? Not sure if the new battery will be fully charged. Tried to look up but could not find any info on this.

From my experience it is best to use the battery normally for a few days. Then you will want to drain your battery all the way down until it turns off. Then charge it all the way back up to fully charged. Keep it plugged in and wipe battery stats. Then drain it all the way back down until it turns off by itself. Charge it up to 100% and you are good to go. That method has worked best for me.

Thanks. One more question. I was reading this other thread on battery calibration and it suggests that you plug in phone while turned off and it will boot in charge only mode. My phone does not boot into charge only mode. It boots in CM7. Is that normal?

Yeah I think that is normal for 2nd init roms. Those roms (CM7 and MIUI for example) seem to make the phone want to restart on its own. I actually had my phone on part of the time while charging last time I did it. It seemed to be just fine.
