Howdy,
I rooted my Kindle Fire with the intent of using something better than the crap stock Amazon browser to watch YouTube videos. I thought that having access to the Android Market would let me get apps like Chrome or YouTube, but they don't appear when I access the market from the Kindle. I can, however, get to their app pages on the market if I do it on my computer, but it won't let me download them, saying they're incompatible with the Kindle Fire.
I was under the impression that rooting the device allows one to install such normally-incompatible apps? How does the Android Market even recognize my tablet as a Kindle Fire, if Kindles aren't even supposed to be using it?
Thanks for helping.
