Instead of Themes ...

Wouldn't it be nice, AND just flat-out make sense, if Lollipop and/or TW had a menu that simply allowed you to set all the colors and backgrounds for the system, much like Windows does with its GUI?

Obviously, it's not hard to do since themes adjust every aspect of things ... so why not an advanced display interface?

Right now, I'm using the URBAN theme, and like it very much except for a few small things - such as the aqua-blue 'background' that the keyboard uses. Not a huge deal, but again, it would be NICE to be able to change those things to exactly what you wanted them to be.

I wonder if anyone is going to be releasing a program/app that taps into this and allows you to customize on that level.

It's possible to adjust a lot with some of the Xposed modules, but Google chose to give us phones that can run apps, not computers that can make calls. The stock kernel in every version of Android is terribly crippled - what would be even nicer than color changes would be not-crippled kernels. Then we could make color changes with trivial apps.

The problem with this is Samsung has a different version of TW on every single one of their devices. They would need to keep up with each device individually. What they need to focus on first is unifying their software across all of their devices.
