Intermittent faint / subtle ringing...

I have a Droid DNA that occasionally (every few days) gets a very faint ring goin on.
Powering the phone down has no effect- it keeps ringing. Restart- nope. Volume down/silent- no effect.
I have a co-worker with the same phone and the same issue.

HTC support suggested a "cache wipe,' which I have been unable to accomplish with the instructions they provided.

Any suggestions?

Well the only thing would be a master reset. That would wipe everything out and you would have a clean canvas once again. I know it can be a PITA to re program the phone but sometimes in the rare case this is what needs to happen to fix the issue. If you got a replacement phone you would have to do it anyway. If its still making sounds after the reset you will need to have Verizon swap it out because thats not normal mine is totally silent.

My first one did that , prior to and after rooting. 2nd one is 2 week old, replaced for other reasons
