Intermittent No Service

[Android Central Question]

Samsung galaxy j3 2016, Android 5.1.1

The phone has good or very good signal for some time (less than an hour), then the barred circle "no service" appears and stays that way for 1 to 15 minutes.

This even happens without a SIM card, "emergency calls only" is replaced by "no service".

The only software fix that works somewhat is selecting a Manual Operator; that way, the "no service" time is only 1 to 2 minutes (so far).

What carrier you on?
Have you played with the APN ?
Without a sim card your not going get service .
