First time poster, so very sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong section, any assistance in getting this to the right section so I could get some assistance would be greatly appreciated. I have a big problem with my 16 gb Sprint SPLH-710 Samsung Galaxy S3's storage. I'm running Slimbean 4.3 build 1. Android 4.3
I started getting the "Insufficient Storage Available" notification a while ago when trying to update some apps and was very confused. I had owned a 16 gb iPhone 4s with way more apps and music than I currently have and storage had never, ever been a problem. I thought I could possibly fix this problem by buying a bigger microsd card so I went ahead and bought a 32 gb microsd card. I had no idea that Android keeps internal and external memory separate and that I wouldn't be able to move any of my apps to the external sd card. I've found other "solutions" to my problem such as the one that uses Android SDK to change the default download location to the external memory. I did all of the steps and then tried downloading a new app but I still had the same issue. I went to each of my apps and tried to find the button pictured here but that button is nowhere to be seen on any of my apps. I also tried to use the AppMgr III app but upon opening it, it says, "The device does not have a real primary external storage, or the primary external storage is emulated. Moving app to SD function cannot be supported by this device."
So finally I tried to see if I could possibly go into my phone's memory with my PC and see if I could delete any non-essential files but that just confused me even more. When I look at my phone in the PC I see this.

However when I go into the Internal Storage folder and highlight everything to see all the file's combined properties it says that there are 251 files equaling only 75.8 MB. Additionally when I go into my phone's Settings>>>>Storage the colored bars are only taking a small fraction of the grey bar and it reads:
Total Space = 12.0 GB
Available = 672 MB
Apps = 249 MB
Pictures, videos = 2.34 MB
Audio = 136 KB
Downloads = 8.00 KB
Cached Data = 1.31 MB
Misc = 74.2 MB
That only equals about .31 GB right?
Additionally my external SD Card is completely empty.
So where the heck is that additional 11.7 GBs worth of memory going? and what can I do to fix this problem? Thanks so much in advance and if this has a stupid solution that I just never thought about, sorry in advance for spamming the board. Please don't hurt me :-[
