Android Central Question

Hi, my phone (Sony Xperia X running Android 7.1.1) recently showed me a message to say that me internal storage was almost full and if I wanted to transfer my photos to my SD card. So I did this, but now I can't see my photos on my phone, or on my SD card.

I checked both on my mac, and can't see any on my SD card. I can see the photos when I connect the phone to the computer though - however they won't open in preview or photoshop and all seem to have been modified on the same date. They all also have "_1" on the end of them.

Has anyone else had this issue or would be able to help me open these files again please?

Thanks!

Welcome to Android Central! First, Unmount the card (in Settings>Storage), remove it, and insert it into your computer's reader. Then back up all of your photos, just in case there's a problem with the card.

Now use Windows Explorer to explore the card (and make sure the Show Hidden Files/Folders option is turned on). Is there a file called ".nomedia" in the directory where your photos are? Or does the directory name start with a period?
