Will the international version of the Galaxy Note 2 work in Japan? I have searched and searched for a clear answer but my lack of understanding when it comes to cell phone networks keeps me confused. I ask because I will be traveling between Japan and the US a lot in the next few years and I would like to use the same phone in both places and just be able to switch out sim cards.

Thanks!

You need to contact AT&T and get the Subsidy unlock codes for your phone. Once done, you put a non carrier sim in and when the phone starts it will open a unlock window. You put your code in and Voil?.
The problem is, they should send you a dummy sim so you can unlock the phone Before you go overseas and make sure all is okay.
I had no problem getting the codes once I found someone who knew what they were doing. (Data Support specialist)
A tmo sim would do just as well. You can also email the Japaenese Cellular Carrier with your question. They should answer w/o a problem.
