International Voice Roaming with EVO

Anybody else having trouble with international voice roaming? In both Mexico and now on a cruise with cell service the symptoms are the same. I get 4-5 bars and then any attempt to dial a number has the bars drop to zero. The bars also drop on their own and then reappear. Others on my trip with a different sprint phone report no issues. Yes the roaming is set to automatic, not sprint only. Data roaming is off. Anybody else see this?

I believe u need to set up international roaming before you use it. otherwise it will freak out. not fully sure though.

I had to call Sprint to make phone calls out of us borders

I went to India a few weeks ago and they said unlimited international roaming could not be applied to the EVO since it was too new. Maybe that's changed now.
