hey guys, I have an HTC One M9 android phone. I can't seem to connect to wifi without it saying "internet connection unstable." I tried restarting my phone, factory reset my phone still didn't work. Then I changed the phone name to HTC One still didn't work, I also wiped the phone Cache and that didn't do the trick. Updated my phone to Android 6.0 still nothing. Reset the wifi modem still didn't work. Changed the Frequency to 2.4 Ghz from 5 Ghz, nope nothing still. I also tried switching from DHCP to static and that didn't help. Finally I installed two apps "1Tap wifi repair" and "WiFi Connection Fixer" and they both tell me they've successfully repaired the wifi and still have the same problem. I kind of don't know what else to do. Any more options would be helpful. If you have any thoughts on what it might be please let me know. Thanks in advanced
First of all uninstall those 2 apps they do nothing. Except fill your phone full of useless crap.
Second. Do you have "Smart Network Switch" on? In your Wifi settings? This is the worst thing ever created.
It switches between Wifi and Mobile to get the best connection, yet even with WIFI is amazing it still thinks it's not
If it's on DISABLE IT!
Turn on your HTC One M9 and HTC One M9 Plus smartphone
Enable the mobile data connection of the HTC One M9.
After the mobile data connection is enabled, go to Menu -> Settings -> Wireless.
At the start of the page you will see the option “Smart network switch”.
Uncheck this option to obtain a not so stable wireless connection of your HTC One M9 with the router still upright.
Now your HTC One M9 will no longer automatically switch between Wi-Fi and the mobile internet.
If that does work. Do you have a Modem Router all in one combo from a provider like Comcast or Roadrunner? These are awful, awful, awful!
If that is the case I would contact your ISP and see what they are screwing up.
Oh and stay away from the 5Ghz stick with 2,4
Let me know if you get any results
