My mobile internet is always grey and never blue which means it isn't connecting to Google servers so it can't sync contacts. My YouTube doesn't work either. Is there any way of fixing it. Thanks for reading

Its only on mobile internet as I have no WiFi at the moment

I have quite similar problem. When on mobile network Google Apps starts, but don't connect to the net. On WiFi all is fine. Done factory reset, updated with last updates. No changes. Other apps can connect to internet either WiFi or mobile is switched on.... :-\

Try changing the apn with an APN app which might adjust it as you could be on the wrong one for your phone provider.

With out access to wifi to verify a connection its hard for us to help diagnose the issue.
