i dont live in a 4g area so all i have is 3g. i noticed that if i dont have 3g then i have no internet. i thought it would also pick up the slower internet if 3g wasnt availble. has anyone else notice this. thanks

the phone should go into "1x" which is 2g up to 144 kbps. However- the EVDO build out started a long time ago so if you dont have 3g you probably don't have coverage period.

actually it should be the opposite. 3g always falls back on 1x. If you don't get 3g, you get 1x. It's that simple. It's not like 3g is there and if it is not, you don't get anything. 1x is there first, network-wise from sprint, and then they rolled out 3g.

I haven't been roaming yet.previously data roaming had to be enabled.
When roaming you get Verizon's 1x, if it doesn't days roam you get no internet at all

i use to get 1x on my pre at my house. now it will show 3g sometimes but when it looses the signal it will say connection lost, try again. i didnt know if anyone else had their evo in 1x cause mine wont work on it.
