The first Android phone that I had, was an LG Vortex, but that was before one of my family members switched our plan to AT&T.

So I got a new phone, the Samsung S, otherwise known as the Samsung Captivate.

The difference between the two, is that with the LG Vortex, I was able to speak out who I wanted to call and it would call that number.

I can't do that anymore.

I could use some help in finding a solution that doesn't result in me having to trade my phone in for another one.

Welcome to Android Central. Samsung Captivate doesn't have Voice Dialer? Strange... I thought that was supposed to be implemented in Android 2.2.

Anyways a little searching around a few users have claimed to have used an app from the market called " vlingo ".

Hope this helps.

Captivate does have voice dailer, but when I got my captivate it still had 2.1 eclair on it. You'll need to flash 2.2 froyo on it.

or in my case flash 2.3.4 :)
